Grand Joy: A Review

Grand Joy: A Review

This book was #gifted.
Grand Joy is an uplifting celebration of all things joy. The authors ascribe Grand Joy to the people, places, things and experiences in life from the perspective the very young and the young at heart.

The text is vibrant with expressive language and rich details that makes the reader want to be a part of each Grand Joy experience. Brilliant images and colors schemes complement the text perfectly and radiate JOY with each turn of the page.

Kuddos to Kim C. Lee, K. Denise Hendershot, and Gabrielle Fludd for gracing our world with such a wonderfully positive message. Thank you for creating "windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors" for my students.

Grand Joy completely captivated their attention, and they expressed many personal connections as I read. They gave this book a 5-star rating.

Book Review of Polo Cowboy by G. Neri

POLO COWBOY
by G. Neri (Author) - Jesse Joshua Watson (Illustrator)

14 year old Cole decides he wants to stay in Philly with his dad, who agrees, but with a condition. Cole has to get job and earn his keep, which means he will not be spending time riding his own horse on the trails with his posse. He works as a stable hand at a military academy across town, and Cole is in a totally different world from his own. Cole knows all about caring for horses and learns more about the game of Polo after forging a connection with one of the Polo Cadets. Their friendship begins out of necessity when the other cadets go out their way to ensure they both know they don't and will never belong. Cole has to learn how to balance both worlds as he tries to figure out who he is and what he wants for his life and future.
