There was a time
when I would spend all day
on a Saturday
getting my hair done.
I remember feeling so pretty afterward.
As I have gotten older,
time has gotten more valuable.
I spend about 25 minutes
in the barber's chair.
I leave feeling just as pretty.
You look beautiful! I love your poem. Time really is the most valuable thing we have.
ReplyDeleteYou are beautiful. Love the poem. It’s wonderful to spend less time grooming. I let my hair go gray a couple years ago and rarely wear makeup.
ReplyDeleteYou feel about your haircut decision the way I feel about not covering my grays. I just don't have the time to sit in the salon every few weeks to maintain colored hair. So, I am gray. I'm pretty much okay with it!
ReplyDeleteThis slice gave me chills. So beautiful and true. It reminds me to be grateful that the way we see ourselves is never really about our hair.
ReplyDeleteI love the way that "pretty" changes as we change. I love that as I age I am better able to embrace my own feelings of pretty. This post is a beautiful (pretty?) encapsulation of confidence and self-love.
